about

The Forever 29 Foundation was established by the family of  Emily Bunner, who died  from accidental fentanyl overdose on March15, 2024. She was just 29 years old with two young children.

Emily was a mother, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, and an aunt. She was silly, witty, bright and creative. But she was also someone struggling with her mental health and Substance Use Disorder. And she was certainly not alone!

In 2024, there were 80,391 deaths from overdose. That number is equivalent to one major airplane crash EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR where everyone on board died! And of the people who died on these planes, they would have left behind family - mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters. That's devastating loss and one that would garner a lot of attention

The number of people who died from lung cancer and breast cancer together last year is 51,680 , still well below the number of deaths from overdose, and these cancer deaths bring sympathetic supporters.

Fatal overdoses are essentially wiping out a generation. Overdose remains the leading cause of deaths for Americans ages 18 to 44!

This foundation aims to stop the stigma around people with this disease while providing resources for harm reduction, mental health and rehab services, especially aimed at single parents.
